Business Development
MQVN CDC provides Technical Assistance to business owners. As a Technical Assistance Small Firms (TASF) provider in partnership with the Louisiana Economic Development (LED), MQVN CDC offers assistance which includes (but not limited to) workshop/seminar/collective business counseling, In-House Business Coaching, Marketing/Advertising Coaching, Financial/Accounting Coaching, Loan/Grant Application Preparation, and Development of Marketing Materials. A Business Resource Center with computer/internet, fax, resources, and printing is available for community use.

The Viet Village Collective Marketing Campaign was launched by MQVN CDC to market the Vietnamese American commercial corridor in eastern New Orleans in order to attract and retain more customers.

- Designation as Louisiana Cultural Product District (Lt. Governor Mitch Landrieu's program) - Viet Village
- 204 surveys collected and analyzed
- 56 banners designed by Viet Village Business Association hung around perimeter of Viet Village Cultural District
- Viet Village Map/Directory printed and distributed
- Viet Village Resource Guide designed, printed, and distributed to attract new developers to Viet Village Cultural District
The Viet Village Targeted Façade Improvement Program is designed to increase the economic activity in Viet Village and to brand the area as a Vietnamese American center of commerce. MQVN CDC, in partnership with MIT's School of Urban Planning and Studies coordinated architects, contractors, and plaza property owners to plan and reconstruct attractive facades, landscaping and parking lots.

Viet Village Streetscape Project is in the planning process to beautify the Alcee Fortier business corridor with a culturally sensitive design. MQVN CDC is working in partnership with the city of New Orleans and the University of New Orleans Department of Planning and Urban Studies.

- Detailed study and plan of the Alcee Fortier business corridor for streetscape improvement in partnership with UNO Urban Studies and Planning Department
- City of New Orleans approved $400K in funds for improvements of streetscape
- Community meetings held where community members and business owners provided input to design of project.
