Environmental Justice

MQVN CDC is partnering with Tulane and the Environmental Protection Agency to monitor water quality at various locations in the community. Community members will participate in water monitoring and be able to see results and analysis by Tulane University researchers.

Healthcare

NOELA Community Health Center provides Primary Care services to the adult and pediatric populations within New Orleans East community and its surrounding neighborhoods who suffer from limited access to health care. Our goal is to improve the health and well-being of underserved communities in and around the New Orleans East area by providing accessible, affordable, high quality, culturally competent community based primary, preventive, rehabilitative, and behavioral health care.

Workforce development

VEGGI Farmers Cooperative is dedicated to empowering growers in the Greater New Orleans area, starting in New Orleans East, in order to create sustainable, high quality jobs that enhance the quality of life of communities through increasing local food access and promotion of sustainable agriculture.

placemaking

MQVN CDC is building a walking trail as a placemaking strategy to revitalize the public space at the Alcee Fortier business corridor. The overall goal is to improve and create a more vibrant quality of life of residents in New Orleans East by increasing healthy behaviors, cultural awareness, food access and Economic development through program development and public space revitalization.

We work with partners throughout the Southern Louisiana to advocate for the needs of fishermen and residents who are affected by coastal erosion and rising sea levels.
